Scanning the Earth Project

What we’ve done so far

The Scanning the Earth Project, in partnership with Safecast.org, has already prepared readings of various locations in Japan, using equipment capable of measuring alpha, beta, and gamma radiation . The results are shown below. The values displayed below were measured while driving through the areas, so they may not be current; however, they should provide a rough estimate of the levels of contamination in these areas. In the future, we will be experimenting with various measurement methods so we can publicize more accurate and up-to-date information.
